Paris 2014

Earlier this year, i spent a long weekend visiting Paris with my sister. I didn't really know what to expect (apart from the obvious eiffel tower and croissants galore) as I don't know of many people who have visited Paris and had never before been that interested in visiting.

After visiting Paris is can truly and honestly say i adore it. The architecture, the food, the way of life there (this list could go on forever) are just all perfect to me and I have been dreaming to go back
the second I landed back in England.

Day 1: The Eiffel Tower

On the Friday, we woke up in the comfiest bed I had ever slept in and walked out into the balcony to watch the Parisians outside starting their morning whilst we scoffed a pan au chocolat or two. Then after getting ready we walked 15minutes from our hotel to arrive at the Eiffel Tower! Now, I don't know if this was just me but i really underestimated the size of the Eiffel Tower, it's insanely huge and the moment i set my eyes on it i was in awe. And obviously as soon as we got there we had to climb to the top.

My sister on the way to the Eiffel Tower

After walking around and staring at the Eiffel tower with amazement we thought it was only right to climb all the stairs to the top. We bought our tickets and proceeding up the stairs that went on and on and on. It was a fairly hot day and there were obviously loads of people around us also making there way to the top so a break now and again was a must. The Eiffel tower had different floors one containing a restaurant and gift shop!

After making are way back down, we sat on the large grass area around the Eiffel tower and had a quick picnic and sunbathed for a couple of hours.

We then went on our way and walked to Les Invalides, the military museum and tomb of Napoleon, the outside of the building so breathtaking to look at especially in the glistening sun.

Brandy Melville: Carnaby Street, London

Hey guys,

Yesterday my sister and I went to London for the day and whilst we were there i thought it would be a great opportunity to pop into the new Brandy Melville store on Carnaby street. To my knowledge the store is one of the only two Brandy Melville stores in London, the other being on Kings road so when i'm down in London I like to go to a Brandy store as I love the Italian/Californian style it offers at super cheap prices.

Brandy Melville stores are mainly scattered around LA,Italy and in other cities such as New York and now London! The style of the the clothing is very relaxed with over sized t shirts and flowy dresses.

Spring Makeup Bag Essentials

Spring is right around the corner, so let's make it a beautiful one! Lighter colours are perfect for this time of year, they'll add a glow to your complexion, give you a 'spring' in your step and keep you right on trend.

In need of some ideas for your spring makeup bag?

Spring '14 make-up ideas.
BB/CC Cream
BB and CC creams are ideal for spring and summer time as they give medium coverage without the heavy feel that you get with foundation. Also a lot of BB creams I've tried in the past have been mattifying to the skin so you need not worry about a shiny complexion throughout the day.

Face Powder
As the weather gets hotter the last thing we want is to look oily and greasy, a staple piece for your spring makeup bag is a good finishing powder which can last throughout the day and keep you looking fresh.
(For a less cakey look try a translucent powder).

Lipsticks/Lip balms
A pink and peachy lip is perfect for spring, the splash of colour brings a glow to your complexion and can be worn subtly with just a slightly coloured lip balm or all out with a high pigmented lipstick.

Bronzer
Winter's over and all it's given us is pasty, dull skin but with a good bronzer we can make it through spring looking flawless. Adding subtle touches of bronzer on your cheekbones and on the temples on your forehead can give a natural looking glow to your face.

Blusher
A good blusher for spring can give you the glow you need, peachy/light pink colours are perfect for this time of year and can bring your whole makeup look together perfectly.

The final two products on my Spring Makeup Bag essentials list aren't necessarily your makeup bag but are totally essential for spring.

Moisturiser
Now that it's time to ditch the woolly tights, a good, fast absorbing body moisturiser is so essential to give your skin a glow and leaving it looking soft.
(Spray&Go moisturisers are cheap and handy especially if your always in a quick rush to get out the door in the mornings)

Nails
Of course we need to talk nails, adding a pastel colour to your nails can make a spring outfit perfect!

What's your staple Spring makeup product?

Mascara Review

If you were to ask me what the one makeup product I couldn't live without was, it would without a doubt be mascara. I rarely wear eyeliner so I like to have mascara that will add volume and thickness my lashes, without too many clumps.
I've tried and tested a wide range of mascaras trying to find the perfect one and I must say I've come pretty close, I now tend to use a small range of mascaras day to day depending on the look I’m going for. Here are a few of my favourites;

Rimmel London SCANDALEYES

Rimmel Scandaleyes £6.99

Also mentioned in My Everyday Makeup
I usually layer this on top of a lengthening mascara as Scandaleyes provides a lot of volume to my lashes however if used on its own will leave me with short, clumpy lashes. If you prefer more natural looking lashes, this mascara is not the ideal one for you as clumps do form however they can be controlled by wiping some of the excess mascara off the applicator brush. You can see from the size of the brush that this mascara will give you very thick and full looking lashes.

L’Oreal Miss Manga

L'Oreal Miss Manga £8.99

Also mentioned in My Everyday Makeup
This is one of my favourite mascaras; it adds both length and volume without a lot of clumps. The applicator brush allows you to easily get right into the lashes in the inner corners of your eye.

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express £7.99

The Rocket Volume Express mascara isn't good or bad, it does the job of a mascara however doesn't have much of a wow factor. It gives more of a natural look to what I prefer and never gives me clumpy or stringy looking lashes.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless £7.99

This mascara is great for lengthening lashes as it has added fibres, it has a very think and long applicator wand which makes it really easy to apply. It doesn't add much or any thickness to the lashes so is better for a more natural look.

Benefit Bad gal Lash

Benefit Bad gal Lash £17.50

This mascara in my opinion if fairly similar to the Rimmel Scandaleyes however it’s a lot less clumpy and thick so overall doesn't give the full lash look. It provides volume but not to same extent as Scandaleyes.

What's your favourite mascara?

Topshop Unique AW14

Every lfw I always, without a doubt watch the Topshop Unique show and this time was no different. The AW14 show took place earlier today (16/2/13) and I was glued to my laptop screen watching the feed on topshop.com,which as always ran 'fashionably late'.I thought I'd share with you guys three of my favourite looks from the show,so here they are.
Topshop Unique AW14

Topshop Unique AW14

This look was by far my favourite from the whole collection, I love the layers, the brown tones and the different textures. The light brown/yellow snake skin appearing from underneath gives this look added depth and the big statement coat is a perfect staple piece for autumn/winter.

Topshop Unique AW14
This look is a perfect example of school girl chic. The monochrome colour palette gives the look a smart and sophisticated feel, paired with the mini skirt and over sized fur coat to give it a stylish, slight edgier look.

Topshop Unique AW14

This look is so feminine and one of the more classier looks from the show. The dress can be styled many ways for different looks and is a lovely, versatile autumn winter piece.

If you missed the Toshop Uniue AW14 show, you can watch it all here

How are you liking London fashion week so far?

Soap&Glory Products Review

For Christmas last year my sister got me the best gift I could’ve asked for, a whole load of soap and glory products! Now, you may be able to tell this already but, I LOVE soap and glory, from the quirky little saying on the products to the retro 60s inspired designs there’s almost no faults! However seen as this is a truthful review my overall opinion on the brand itself won’t stop me from saying my honest thoughts on each, individual product.

 The Scrub of Your Life

This product itself is my absolute favourite out of those I got for Christmas, the name of this exfoliating scrub in my opinion is totally suited to how perfect it is. It’s has a fresh, girly almost citrus smell which seems strong when in the shower however doesn’t remain on your skin (so it isn’t too overpowering). On the front on the product it quotes ‘once rough elbows go suddenly silky’ which is true for this product, after just one use I found a significant difference in my elbows and knees as they went from dry to smooth and silky, which is definitely handy in the cold months.

Left: Sugar Crush £6.50
Right: The Scrub of your life £7.00
Sugar Crush Body Wash
This body wash has a creamy texture which lathers up with water, however about 5 pumps (or more) are required for a rich lather. The scent isn’t really to my taste; it says it contains lime oil which is definitely noticeable and I personally prefer more floral and sweeter scents in body products. However I do find this body wash very conditioning to my skin leaving it smooth and soft all over, so if you prefer more citrus smells in your body wash this product is a 10/10 for you.

The Righteous Butter
The Righteous Butter £10.50
The smell of this body butter is perfect, it’s fresh, not overly sweet and when I apply it after my shower I’m in heaven! The scent remains on my skin for a long time, I tend to shower at night and when I wake up I can still smell it subtly on my skin. It absorbs quickly onto my skin and leaves it feeling conditioned and energised, this is one of the products I’d definitely repurchase over and over again.

Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion
Butter Yourself £10.00
This moisture lotion is lightly moisturising, definitely not like butter, and is perfect for just quickly touching up dry knees and elbows in the day. The scent for me is slightly masculine, which I’m not a fan of so I rarely use this product just maybe as I said to touch up dry elbows in the day.

Heel Genius Foot Cream
I must say this is one of my favourite foot cream I’ve come across, even though I usually  tend to like fruitier smells, for my feet I like a nice fresh smell which this product provides. It’s a very rich cream and requires a lot of rubbing in and does take quite a while to full absorb in so is better to use before bed, not in a quick rush to get out the door.
Left: Hand Food £5.00
Right: Heel Genius £5.50

Hand Food
I’d wanted to get my hands on this for quite a while now as I’d heard so much about it on other blogs. It has a very similar scent to Righteous Butter that I mentioned above and has a very similar rich texture as the Heel Genius Foot cream, it very much like a mixture of those two products. I do like this hand cream and it is intensely moisturising however I would prefer one that absorbs into my skin a lot quicker as this one does take quite a while.

Mist You Madly
Mist you Madly £6.50
I use this mist every single day, I tend to spray in on my coat and a little bit in my hair as I love the floral scent, it’s quite a subtle scent which I really like as I can’t stand over powering body mists/perfumes. It’s a really lovely subtle mist to quickly spritz on just before you leave the house in the morning.

Peaches and Clean

Peaches and Clean £8.00

Another one of my favourites, this cleansing milk just ticks all the boxes! It easily removes waterproof makeup in seconds without stinging or leaving the skin feeling dry. It has a lovely peachy smell and makes my skin feel smooth and ready for bed

Thick and Fast Mascara

Thick&Fast £10.00
I’m a massive mascara lover and when I get to try out a new one my excitement levels overload, so I just couldn’t wait to try Soap and Glory’s mascara. However the Thick and Fast mascara did nothing for my lashes, it didn’t lengthen them, lift them or provide any extra volume, so to be completely honest I was quite disappointed by this product.

What are your favourite Soap&Glory products?

My Everyday Makeup

Hello readers, welcome to my blog! As this is my first blog post I thought I’d do a ‘getting to know me’ but still beauty related post, so here it is, my simple every day makeup.

Foundation.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 'Beige' £9.99
My everyday foundation is the Bourjois healthy mix foundation, now I know Bourjois foundations have very mixed review but personally I love this foundation. It promises a healthy glow with a flawless complexion, and I can honestly say it provides exactly that (and a lovely, fruity smell).
I pump the foundation out onto the back of my hand and apply with the Topshop foundation brush. It’s easily spread, not too thick not too thin, and one pump is just enough to perfectly cover the whole of my face.
The coverage is medium-full as it covers all my blemishes and redness of my skin but isn't too thick so it can still give you a natural, fresh look.

Mascara
L'OREAL Miss Manga Mascara £8.99

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara £6.99

I have a very unhealthy love for mascara, I can’t leave the house without it on and I like to apply multiple layers of it onto my top lashes.
First I begin with the L’OREAL mega volume Miss Manga mascara, this mascara adds length and volume my lashes and is perfect to get into the inner corners of the eye as the applicator brush is shaped perfectly to get right into the corners.
Then, as my lashes just can’t have enough volume I apply the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara on top, the applicator brush of this mascara is HUGE so if you like natural looking lashes this is not the mascara for you.

Lips
Models Own Lip Balm 'Red Hot' £4.00

My natural lip colour is extremely dull so I like to add a subtle pop of colour to brighten it up. For this is use the Models Own Lip Balm in the colour ‘Red Hot’, this lip balm if applied liberally will look like a bright, red lipstick, however that’s not the look I want for everyday so, I lightly dab my finger into the lip balm a dot in onto my lips to give a natural-looking red tint.

Cheeks
Bourjois Illuminating Touch Powder £5.99

To finish of my look I like to add a brush of the Bourjois Illuminating power onto my cheekbones to give a healthy looking glow to my face. This powder is extremely subtle and when added to your face gives no colour just a small shimmer.

I hope you liked my first post!
